Welcome to my dictionary page! English is my second language and thus sometimes I encounter words which I am not familiar with. I know there are a lot of dictionaries out there so why make a new page just to show the meaning of words that I recently did not know? Well, I would like to document my progress and see how far I have gone with increasing my vocabulary. So if you don’t mind here goes:

Amble – An unhurried leisurely walk or stroll
Anachronistic – chronologically misplaced

B
Behest – A person’s orders or command

C
Claustrophobia – a morbid fear of being closed in a confined space
Cognizant – aware

D
Dissonant – discordant: lacking in harmony

E
Epiphany – sudden realization or comprehension of the (larger) essence or meaning of something
Ergo – therefore, consequently

H
Harbinger – something that precedes and indicates the approach of something or someone

I
Incontinent – not having control over urination and defecation
Incredulous – skeptical, disbelieving, or unable to believe
Inexplicable – unexplainable

J
Juxtapose – the act of positioning close together often for comparison

M
Micturate – urinate

P
Perpetuate – to prolong the existence of something
Posterity – descendants, all future generations

R
Reek – Be suggestive of something unpleasant or disapproved of

S
Sans – lacking, without; short for sans serif; without
